Energized Rhizome

Client: Eindhoven Engine Date: February 2021 - July 2021 Collaborators: Serge Gruson

This project was commissioned by Eindhoven Engine for their new offices at the TU/e campus. Energized Rhizome consists of four interactive wall sculptures with an industrial look. The goal of the piece is to emphasize the interdisciplinary connecting role of the shared offices in which it is located. With custom-engineered linear motor bearings, the composition of the pieces change every day by extending or retracting rods. This stimulates interactions among co-workers by providing a piece for discussion and a reason to visit different offices to look at the new positions.
